I did Duncan’s in June during lockdown, naturally a time of anxiety for everyone, me included. I found the course extremely thought provoking, uncovering some subconscious aspects of the socialised version of who we are and opening my understanding of how that could shape my reactions. It then naturally progressed into looking at how we deal with things through that lens as well as others, including how expectations, likes and dislikes also shape our responses. It gave me tools and practices with which to identify these reactions, how to observe them and ultimately to process them in a much more enlightened way. This combined with work on how every moment is unique really opened up my eyes. It has made a huge difference to me, particularly in my relationships with other people and has allowed me to be more true to myself as I am. Duncan is an amazing coach, thoughtful empathetic and attentive and I would recommend this course and Duncan to anyone.

Duncan’s course has incredible depth but he makes it so simple to understand and implement. This truly is a game changer, particularly for successful people, that have trouble relaxing without the aid of medication or alcohol. During lockdown was one of the most anxious times of my life, it felt like a had a tight band around my chest and I couldn’t breathe. Duncan’s breath training really helped relax my mind which ultimately relaxed my body and helped to mitigate the anxiety that was being displayed in my body. I would thoroughly recommend it to people who are tired, stressed or just feel a little out of control and out of balance with their bodies. Duncan is patient, calm and a great teacher and will walk you through the practice in comfort and ease.

My partner and I joined Duncan a few times for a laughing meditation, online… And we did exactly that- we laughed and laughed and laughed. It was exactly what we needed during the lockdown period, time to relax, be silly and just let go. Duncan guided us through this beautifully, held the space and allowed us to release the inner laughter (hysterical at times.) I would highly recommend this to everyone who needs a good old cheer up or to connect to their inner child.

As a competitive Irish dancer it required a great amount of breath control to get through the intense 2.5 mins of dancing. I have always struggled to control my nerves whilst dancing at such a high intensity. I sat down with Duncan and he went through a variety of breath control techniques that would benefit me personally and he then tailored a selection of breath control techniques for me to learn. We started off with conscious breathing and then moved on to the bellows breath which is personally one of favourites Duncan was great at explaining the exact benefits and how it would effect me. He also taught me alternate nostril breathing which was slightly more challenging but definitely beneficial once getting the knack of it. This is something I will always continue to do as I feel so much more relaxed and in control especially when dancing! I would highly recommend Duncan he has so much knowledge and is great for anyone that wants to learn more about breath control and how you can put it into practice in many aspects of your life!

Duncan has clearly studied and practiced many aspects of the mind and body and his course demonstrates with ease how these are all interlinked, from healthy eating, fitness, to mindfulness, happiness and generally worrying less. Many topics Duncan discusses on this course appear simple, once explained, but before this I had never even thought of them. The foundation of the course is based on the basic human desire to want to feel good and feeling safe.

Yoga, for example, is incorporated in the course in small doses and it demonstrates how this practice can help bring the mind back into the moment. The course explains how our experience of the world depends on how our brains interpret external events which are out of our control.

The course is built up of around 8 sections which was delivered over two to three weeks in a very well-structured format, but also inclusive of all participants.
I was very grateful to have taken part in this course and would recommend anyone who wants to understand better how the mind and body works to take part.
